Sedgeblac Retrievers
Chesapeake Bay & Flat-Coated Retrievers
Who we are

We are a mother/daughter duo who love to compete in conformation, agility, obedience,
rally obedience, and hunting tests. Our dogs have won many top honors including Best in
Veteran Sweepstakes at an American Chesapeake Club National Specialty, induction into
the Flat-coated Retriever Society of America Hall of Fame, Sporting group placements,
Grand Championships, Master Hunter titles, and Master Agility Championship titles.

We are located in a suburb of Buffalo in Western New York. Kim is a practicing
Veterinarian and Sandy is a retired research scientist, so we have a thorough
understanding of the genetics and heritability of dogs. We breed infrequently but when we
do breed we put a lot of thought into choosing who to breed, always aiming to improve
upon health, conformation, temperament/personality, and intelligence in the next
generation.  Although we love to compete with our dogs, they are all house pets who live
in the house with us and all puppies are raised in the house too.
